Worried About Mercury?
If you haven’t already heard…CFL light bulbs use mercury. The average bulb has about 5 milligrams, which is 100 times less than the amount that was in the old glass thermometers. But it’s still mercury…and I don’t usually like to jump on the bandwagon of products that just create another problem in the future. But I think in the case of CFLs, the energy and money savings are so great and the problem so minimal that it’s not really a cause for concern. For right now, its just important to recycle them properly, and many major stores are jumping in to make that happen, check out IKEA and Home Depot or click over to Earth 911 to find a recycling program near you.

I used this advice in my home and felt the difference on my utility bill. I changed all of the bulbs in my home to CFL lightbulbs. Not only did I save money, but the CFL bulbs are brighter then you traditional bulbs which seem so much dimmer.
I have replaced a large number of my bulbs with CFLs. I have found them to be dimmer and off colored. They also do not work in my garage and yard lights in winter.
I have kept track of when I install them and found that they stop working at almost the same rate as the incand. bulbs I use, especially in enclosed fixtures. Add in the cost of recycling them and they just don’t cut it.

We are using CFL lighbulbs at home and it is really using low current.Before,we really had a problem on our current bills.But now that we are using CFL lightbulbs,we can save money.
It is more brighter than the traditional incandescents.
