Get Your Green On At The US Botanic Gardens
In the DC area this weekend? Check out Family Day at the US Botanic Gardens (USBG). This summer, the USBG is hosting a special exhibit called “One Planet—Ours! Sustainability for the 22nd Century”. And this Sat (June 21st) they’ll have their first of four summer Family Days where kids can help create a straw bale house, create a “pollinator”, cook with sunshine, make a hand-held wind turbine, and meet “sustainability” experts from around the country. If you have a plastic bags hiding in closet, bring them along for recycling and USBG will give you a free reusable shopping bag.
