Another great idea for a green gift are cookie bouquets! Before you question this idea, be sure to check out Bloomingcookies.com. There u will find out they use eco-friendly wrapping for all their gift baskets.

Thanks for the mention! It's amazing how many people are struggling with planning eco-friendly birthday parties right now! I can't wait to see what you write about this week, and I'm definitely going to have to document my daughter's party results in October.

Stefani
teensygreen.com

I sympathize because I've got a house full of plastic toys that are just useless clutter. I've decided to donate more than half of what my 18 month old has to our church pre-school. A kind of recycling, I suppose!

I am planning my son's birthday right now, and trying to figure out how to green the party and the gift giving. I haven't gotten that far, but I think for favors we are going to give small plants in recyclable containers or seeds. So no small silly plastic toys.

No disposable plastic-real plates and silverware.

But we still haven't done the theme so I don't know about the decorations. Definitely no balloons, however.

Jennifer Taggart
Smart Mamas Do It All Naturally
http://www.thesmartmama.com
