Disneynature's Earth…Just In Time For Earth Day
Looking for some eco-fun ways to celebrate Earth Day with the family? Check out Disneynature’s first film, Earth, which premieres in theaters nationwide on Earth Day, April 22nd.
Narrated by the seriously smooth voice of James Earl Jones, Earth tells the remarkable story of three animal families and their amazing journey across our equally amazing planet.
Earth has something for everyone…cute fuzzy animals, tender moments, intense action, technical film feats. But it can also be a little on the scary side, so it’s not a great film for little ones (under 10) or any kids that frighten easily.
Earth is directed by Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield, the acclaimed creative team behind the Emmy Award-winning “Planet Earth” series. My brother bought me that series a few years ago for my birthday and I still LOVE watching it over and over agin. So I’m expecting great things from Earth. Check out the trailer below for a sneak peek!
To spread the word and get folks excited about the Earth (the movie and the planet!) Disneynature is giving away a grab bag of Earth-branded products…a canvas tote, a biodegradable tumbler, a fleece blanket and a tree seedling to one lucky reader! To enter this contest, leave a comment on this post describing how you will be spending Earth Day this year! Contest ends next Wednesday, April 22nd. Happy Earth Day!!

I am really looking forward to seeing this movie! There are few things better than watching Disney movies with real animals.
On Earth Day, I am headed to a few different events around DC and Annapolis. I’ll be at the National Mall on Earth Day to enjoy all that the nation’s capital has to offer (traveling by metro to save some fuel), then I am off to Annapolis as part of Green Drinks (http://www.greendrinksforthebay.org )with some friends.
This year for Earth Day, my 4-year old daughter and I will plant a tree in our yard and pick up the trash (if any) on our block. She already points out litter everywhere we go and comments that it’s “bad for the Earth and the Planet”. We try to make every day Earth Day by discussing environmental matters and I explain to her why I do the things I do (unplug the microwave after using it, use vinegar for cleaning and laundry…) Happy Earth Day everyone!!!
We helped plant trees last week for Oregon Arbor Week. For Earth Day we’re getting together with our newly formed Roots and Shoots group for a potluck breakfast and then going to the local Earth Day Parade. Kids and adults dress up as their favorite animals and participate in a “Procession of the Species” through downtown.
On Earth Day, I plan to do things the same that I already do. I will walk whereever I need to go, unplug things that aren’t being used in the house, and hang my laundry outside to dry rather than using the electricity for the clothes dryer….that is just to name a few things!! I plan to be outside a lot of the day!
I’ve been working on Earth Day all month. We started composting, planted 3 trees, flowers, and finally got some grass planted in our yard! Woohoo!
The rest is the normal everyday stuff I already do! I don’t know that we will do anything specifically ON earth Day since it is a school work day, I we’ve been doing little things through out the month
I am going to spend earth day by planting flowers&recycling
I will be teaching children the importance or reducing, reusing and recycling. I will also be showing them how to plant an indoor herb garden and they will each receive and indoor herb seedling to bring home. I will also be teaching them about conserving our resources. I think it will be a lovely Earth Day.
We are reevaluating the energy usage in our home, starting with our lightbulbs.
Hi! We’re in need of new bedroom furniture & desk at home– so we’ve made the pledge to go secondhand. We’re combing thrift shops… it’s taking longer to find something that’ll “fit”, especially because we’re not driving around each week, but trying to combine our store trips with other errands too.
We went this morning to our local “green” store and took reusable bags everywhere we shopped.
ts like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something.

I recommend this write-up to all of my facebook friends. This webpage will make some massive passive profit I’m positive.
