Happy Earth Day!
Today is the 39th Celebratation of Earth Day and you are personally invited to join in the party! Here are all the details you need to get involved.
Who: We’re celebrating the Earth today thanks to U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson who founded the event in 1970. Festivities are open to EVERYONE!
What: The 39th celebration of Earth Day!
When: April 22nd…TODAY!
Where: Earth Day is celebrated today by over 500 million people in 175 countries around the globe. You can celebrate Earth Day anywhere…in your home, at school, at the office, in your community, or even online!
How: There are so many things you can do today to celebrate the Earth. Try one or all of these and you’ll be well on your way to protecting the planet:
- Go for a nature walk
- Turn off a light
- Read to your kids about the Earth
- Take a shorter shower
- Buy local goods
- Better yet, buy nothing!
- Choose organics
- Don’t drive
- B.Y.O.B. (Bring your own reusable bottle or bag)
- Breastfeed your baby
- Reuse and recycle
RSVP: You don’t have to call or write to anyone to participate. Just remember, we may be celebrating Earth Day today, but this is a celebration that actually lasts all year long!

Tonight I’m changing my light bulbs to energy efficient ones & this weekend we are planting 300 oak trees on our farm. Hooray for Earth Day!!
