What does it feel like to be standing at the crossroads of environmental history? Ask a teenager. Today’s teenagers will be first to feel the effects of the environmental changes that have been underway for the last several decades. Global warming in particular will fundamentally change the world as they know it within their lifetime.
And they know it.
Increasingly, it is teenagers that are on the forefront of the environmental movement. Teens want to learn how to minimize their environmental impact at home, at school, and in their communities and get their concerns recognized by school officials, politicians, media, and even their own parents.
That’s why I am THRILLED to officically annouce the release of my latest book, The Green Teen: The Eco-Friendly Teen’s Guide to Saving the Planet. This book has been a long time coming. For the past several years, I’ve been talking to teens about the eco-strategies that have worked for them and the main roadblocks they’ve had to going green and helping others go green. The teens I talked to overwhelming agreed that it was hard to get adults to take them seriously, becuase so much of the eco-information they had was geared to children.
I realized…what’s the point of giving teens cutesy tips about “starting a recycling program at their school,” when so many schools are struggling just to keep their doors open? The Green Teen gives teens all the info they need togo green from the ground up. They can learn how to research, fundraise for, and promote a recycling program at their school; fit eco-savvy choices into their budgets and schedules; and even find (and land) a green collar job.

Trendy Diva can’t wait to read it
Congratulations on this great book release! Equipping teens with the proper know-how is crucial to helping to sustain this initiative within this generation. While teens are in the midst of this, it is important that young children get on board as well. I found this great recipe book for cooking green with your children here:

Thanks again!
I really like the idea of taking the kids to the zoo/aquarium.
